Summer classes at the Carpenter’s Boat Shop are a perfect way to learn basic woodworking and boatbuilding skills. While class projects vary from building shaker boxes and furniture to the building of a Monhegan Skiff, all classes emphasize basic woodworking skills, tool use, sharpening, a supportive group atmosphere, and a tremendous sense of accomplishment. Specific classes for youth and women are also available!
Classes are open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis. Class tuition (See below) includes lunch during each work day. For an extra fee, on-campus room and board is available and includes a single room, shared bathroom, and breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Boarders may arrive the evening before the class begins and depart the day after the class ends. When registering, participants may either pay a $100 non-refundable deposit or the full course tuition. If only a deposit is made, the remainder of your tuition, as well as any room and board fees, are due at the start of the class. Limited scholarships are available. On-line registration is available below.
